Lansing Shaped Mural Project
In 2024, Muralmatics founder Dustin Hunt painted three large portrait murals across the City of Lansing. Each mural features one family across three generations: kiddos, parents, and grandparents. The murals are located on repurposed school buildings on Lansing’s North, West, and South sides. QR codes placed near each mural link to short videos where family members share how Lansing has shaped their lives.
Lansing Shaped is now live and open to the public. Visitors are invited to take part by recording and uploading their own stories about how Lansing has shaped them. These videos will be added to a growing digital gallery that reflects the voices and experiences of people from across the city.
To participate, visit a mural in person. You can pick up an official Lansing Shaped map at participating businesses and organizations to find each mural location. While you're there, be sure to grab some stickers and buttons to show your support and help spread the word.
