In 2019 Muralmatics and All of the Above Hip Hop Academy teamed up to create Below the Stacks, Lansing Michigan’s inaugural citywide mural festival. This week-long festival featured family friendly workshops, bike tours, artists lectures and a celebratory closing event featuring Oddisee. Local, emerging artists were brought in as paid apprentices to work with an all-star lineup of world renowned community-based street artists to amplify the rich cultural narratives of Lansing’s diverse communities through highly visible, beautiful murals. Below the Stacks was made possible through the support from the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Community Foundation, several small businesses, organizations, and volunteers.
